Week 10: Gaming and Virtual Environments
Activity #1 We were not able to try any of the games until Wednesday as our computer would not let us. It has since been updated. I tried two games Bejeweled and Zuma from Pop Cap Games. I liked Zuma better because it was new to me and a little different than anything I have played. I have also played Hearts, Sudoku and Spider Solitaire. I prefer logic games to MUSH or social environment type games.
Activity #2 I think gaming and virtual worlds are of interest to libraries because they can be used as a teaching tool. They go beyound the printed word and they allow students to recreate, for example, a particular time in history. They can build towns, fight battles, grow crops or recreate any event in history they want to.
